A place to gather, reflect, and reconnect—with each other and with the land.
Tucked into 25 acres on the edge of the Somerset village of Oakhill, our retreat site offers a rare blend: wild swimming ponds, mossy stones, quiet corners, and easy access to nearby towns like Bath, Wells, Frome, and Bruton. Surrounded by A-roads, yet surprisingly still, the land holds its own kind of quiet—rich with birdsong, dragonflies, and the scent of woodsmoke and wet earth.
Whether you’re planning a retreat, a creative workshop, or time away with family or friends, Oakhill Ponds offers space to breathe and space to be—without needing to travel far.
Some guests come for the cold water and wood-fired saunas. Others come to read, walk, write, or simply watch the light shift on the water. With its marshland paths, ancient stones, and thoughtful touches—like our Horse Lorry Reading Room, filled with well-chosen books—this is a place that invites both reflection and conversation.
We host a variety of retreats throughout the year: some are self-led, others are run in-house or by guest practitioners. These include movement and meditation retreats, quiet reading weekends, and seasonal gatherings shaped by fire, water, and shared meals. For those planning a pre-wedding celebration with a different kind of focus, our Gentle Elemental experience offers a meaningful alternative to traditional hen or stag weekends.
We also welcome retreat facilitators looking for a space to bring their own work to life. Whether you're guiding a creative group, a wellbeing retreat, or something more personal, Oakhill Ponds offers privacy, flexibility, and a strong sense of place.
This is not a remote wilderness—but it is a place where nature still has a say.
