Oakhill Ponds is just off the A367 (Bath Road). The car park is down a small driveway by the Oakhill Surgery and Pondsmead Nursing Home. The best postcode for Sat Navs is BA3 5HT.

Yes, although you won't be able to explore Somerset so easily.

We have a bus stop a minutes walk away with busses to and from Bath Bath to Wells 174 Route  - so you could train to Bath Spa and then get a bus to Oakhill. Otherwise there are taxi companies that go to and from Castle Cary train station. 
Several of our guests have come by train and bus. 
 

Yes we have a car park for guests to use. It is free of charge, but used entirely at your own risk.

Oakhill Ponds and its staff cannot accept any liability for loss, damage or injury in connection with using the car park.

Check in is from 3:00pm until 8:00pm (if you expect to arrive later than this please contact us).
Check out is by 11:00am

Yes we have several local practitioners offering Pilates, yoga and other therapies to enhance your stay. You can find information here and book in something special.

Yes. We have a lovely village pub called the Oakhill Inn just 3 minutes walk away that serves delicious pub food and local ales & ciders with a warm and friendly atmosphere

There is also a convenience shop "Doc Foster's" in the village just opposite the school which is open every day, apart from Sundays.

Also on Wednesday's and Saturday's the Oakleaf Cafe is open in the Village Hall, a short walk up Zion Hill, serving drinks, cakes, bacon and sausage baps as well as home made soup and quiche.

There are many options for self-catering at Oakhill Ponds. Whether you have booked the whole Site, a Shepherds Hut, the Walled Garden or a Lotus Belle Tent there are lots of options. Check out the details here and enjoy al-fresco cooking and eating.

Camping

We have 2 Shepherds Huts (Alice and Chiyo-ni which can be booked year round) and 4 Lotus Belle tents which can be booked in the summer season.

We also have a 21ft Yurt in the beautiful setting of the Walled Garden which can also be booked in the summer.

Finally we offer a 3 bedroom apartment, Upper Beeches, just a couple of minutes walk away from our main site.

Yes - we have drinking water on-site. All of our water is spring fed and filtered. In addition each tent has its own dedicated drinking water tap which has been additionally passed through a UV-filter. The cold water in the Shepherds Huts are also UV-filtered and approved for drinking. 

Our drinking water is regularly tested by the council and approved as being drinkable.

Shepherds Huts

The beds in the Shepherds Huts cleverly store away to maximise the available space. The videos below show how to access them and store them away again.

Yes. Both of our Shepherds Huts have their own wood fired, Hikki Bohemen hot tub for your exclusive use. We aim to fill these for you before you arrive but you will need to heat them yourselves. Full instructions are provided and we can give advice if you need it. The process takes about 1.5 hours in the summer and 2 hours in the winter.

We provide matches, fire lighters, kindling and enough wood for two good fires so you can get warm when you arrive. You may need extra wood which you are welcome to bring with you, buy locally or which we can sell to you if you prefer. A link to pre-order wood is here Online Shop

You will need extra wood to heat your hot tub.

Tents

Yes. Each tent has its own dedicated toilet and shower which only you will use during your stay. The hot shower is filtered spring water and the toilet is a top of the range compost loo with separator to ensure it is smell free.

Each tent has its own drinking water tap which has filtered spring water, which is also passed through a UV filter to ensure it is safe to drink. We regularly test the water to ensure it is safe and it is also regularly tested by the council who approve it as safe for drinking. 

Sauna and Swim Club

We offer private sauna sessions which are open to non-members. You can book a time here - choose a date, press add, press exclusive sauna and you get the option to choose a time. The private sauna session is for up to 4 people, with access to the swimming ponds, dip tank, outdoor shower and spacious changing tent

You have to be a member in order to swim, unless you are staying in any of our accommodation. The sauna can be booked privately for an exclusive hire without being a member when available.
